VoiceCaptionIt was born out of the frustration anyone who has posted and shared pictures on the Internet – the text captions were too short and not clear enough which in turn resulted in a flood of email questions from friends and family. Voices carry so much more information than text – the tone, inflection, pacing – all combine to make a voice comment much richer than a typical text caption. Our patent pending technology allows you to attach your voice to any image using an ordinary telephone, bringing together the richness of the spoken word with the efficiency of “one to many” sharing of the Internet.

If you have ever used voice mail then you already know how to use VoiceCaptionIt. Our system doesn’t require you to get your computer microphone working, adjust recording levels, save sound files in a directory you can’t find and then try to upload them to a website! You just click on a link and our system calls you (for free) and you record a high quality voice caption using your phone (any kind of phone works as long as it has a number we can dial). You can preview your voice caption before saving it and even re-record it if you don’t like what you hear in the preview. Once you save your voice caption it is instantly linked to your image. A voice caption can be up to 2 minutes long.

You can also leave voice comments about other people’s voice captions or images after they have left an original voice caption. If you are uploading lots of images and don’t have time to add voice captions to all of them, you can also record a placeholder voice caption that lets your friends know you’ll be coming back to add a voice caption in the near future. Finally, you can record an introductory voice caption that is part of your personal profile so when people browse your profile they can hear what you like and don’t like – not just read it.
